The School of Social Work, Rutgers University signed cooperation aggreement with the School of Labor and Human Resources, Renmin University of China

On the afternoon of May 27th, signing ceremony of the cooperation project between School of Social Work, Rutgers University and School of Labor and Human Resources, Renmin University of China and the academic exchange meeting was held in the VIP Conference Room of Yifu Conference Center, Renmin University of China. Deputy Vice-President, Dean of the School of Social Work of Rutgers University (Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey), Professor Richard L. Edwards, Director of the China Institute for Employment Research, Dean of School of Labor and Human Resources, Renmin University of China, Professor Zeng Xiangquan, Vice-Director of the China Institute for Employment Research, Associate Professor Liu Eeduo and Tang Kuang attended the meeting. 

The School of Social Work of Rutgers University is the biggest social work school in America. The signing of the agreement with this school is one of the measures taken by the the school of Labor and Human Resources to speed up its international process and enhance its influence all over the world. Director of the China Institute for Employment Research, Dean of School of Labor and Human Resources, Renmin University of China, Professor Zeng Xiangquan firstly welcomed the visitors and then described the background of starting cooperation projects with overseas universities. He said he hoped the two sides could go further in exchanging students and academic research. Dean Richard L. Edwards introduced their school's basic situation and cooperation plans with other famous universities, especially the China Strategy, which mainly focused on attracting Chinese students to Rutgers and developing academic partnership with universities and research institutes in China. The two sides then signed a cooperation agreement and held a ceremony of appointment of Academic Advisory Committee with each other.

In the subsequent meeting, the two sides both introduced the majors and discipline construction of their school. Vice-Director of the China Institute for Employment Research and Vice-Dean of School of Labor and Human Resources, Renmin University of China, Associate Professor Liu Erduo represented undergraduates of the School of Labor and Human Resources while Vice-Director of the China Institute for Employment Research and Vice-Secretary of School of Labor and Human Resources, Associate Professor Tang Kuang represented graduates. Dr. Michael LaSala of Rutgers University represented the School of Social Work. Professor Pan Jintang of School of Labor and Human Resources gave a speech on the status of Social Security in China. After the meeting, the two sides discussed lively about professional settings, personnel training, student exchanges and other issues.

Head of Social Security Department of School of Labor and Human Resources, Associated Professor Han Keqing took the chair of the meeting. The following people attended the ceremony and meeting: Dean of Social Work of New York University Professor Lynn Videka; ex-Dean of Social Work of Hunter College(City University of New York) Professor James Blackburn; Associate Professor of Social Work of Rutgers University Chien-Chung Huang, Beth Angell, assistant Professor Patricia Findley, Lecture Jeff Feldman; Associate Professor of the School of Labor and Human Resources of Renmin University of China Yang Jun, Lecture Li Ying, Lu Quan and Kim Byung-Cheol; up to 50 graduates from Rutgers University(24) and Renmin Universtiy of China.
