The Fifteenth Biweekly Academic Forum of Labor Economics

At 16:00 pm on March 3, 2010, the Fifteenth Biweekly Academic Forum of Labor Economics organized by School of Labor and Human Resources of RUC was successfully held. The speaker of this forum was Professor Hao Qi, teacher of Xiamen University. The topic is Job Quality and Economic Independence of Welfare Users. The forum was presided over by Professor Zhong Zhao, senior researcher of CIER. Professor Xiangquan Zeng, Head of CIER, Professor Kuang Tang, Deputy Head of CIER, Assistant Researcher Tongcheng Xiong, Qiang Wu, other teachers and students of the School of Labor and Human Resources attended the forum and discussed Professor Wang’s speech.

Dr. Hao Qi received Economics Ph. D from University of Wisconsin-Madison and now teaches in Xiamen University. His research areas mainly are public economics, labor economics, econometrics and American antipoverty policies and so on. He particularly concerns about labor market and welfare, and his representative papers are “A Structural Analysis of Mothers ’Work and Welfare Participation Decisions and Children’s Attainments”, “The Effects of the Expansion in the EITC Program and Welfare Time Limits on Single Mothers’ Welfare and Work Decisions”, “The Effects of Single Mothers’ Welfare and Labor Force Participation Decisions on Children’s Attainments” and so on.
