The Eighth Biweekly Academic Forum of Labor Economics

At 16:00 on September 23rd, 2009, the eighth Biweekly Academic Forum of Labor Economics organized by the School of Labor and Human Resources of RUC was successfully held. The speaker of this forum was Professor Wu Zhongmin from Nottingham Trent University and the topic was Inequality, Human Capital, and Innovation---Past, Present and Future of China. The forum was presided over by Professor Zhao Zhong, senior researcher of CIER. Director of CIER Professor Zeng Xiangquan, Deputy Director of CIER , Professor Yang Weiguo, senior researcher Professor Yao Yuqun, PHD student Wu Qiang, Yang Yu-Mei, Hao YuMing, Li Xiaoman and other teachers and students of the School of Labor and Human Resources attended the forum and discussed Professor Wu Zhongmin’s speech. 
 
Wu Zhongmin received a doctorate degree in economics from School of Economics of the University of Southampton and is now teaching  taught in Nottingham Trent University. He is the member of the American Economic Association and the Royal Economic Society, and one of the organizers and leaders of Chinese Economics Association. His main research areas include labor economics and applied econometrics. He has a strong interest in employment, unemployment and immigration, China’s economy and labor market, and econometric analysis of panel data. Professor Wu Zhongmin has compiled China in the World Economy, Financial Sector Reform and the International Integration of China and other books. His articles have been published in Applied economics, Journal of Chinese Economic and Business Studies, China Economic Review and other publications.
