On the afternoon of January 14, 2012, the CIER of RUC released the CIER Index to the public officially in room 347, Qiushi Building of the School of Labor and Human Resources. Zeng Xiangquan, Dean of School of Labor and Human Resources of RUC and director of CIER, together with Ding Dajian, DC director of School of Labor and Human Resources, researcher of CIER attended the conference. Both Geng Lin and Ge Yuhao, vice-researchers of CIER, attended the meeting too. France television, the Xinhua News Agency, Guangming Daily, China Education Daily, China Labor and Social Security News and other media attended the meeting and widely reported it. The conference was hosted by professor Tang Kuang, deputy party secretary of School of Labor and Human Resources, deputy director of CIER.
Ding Dajian researcher introduced the R&D background, academic definition, history variation and the latest tendency of CIER Index and he used the index to fully analyzed China’s employment situation in 2011.
Professor Zeng Xiangquan expounded the strengths and actual value of CIER Index from the index’s database. He pointed out that the CIER Index could show the short-time fluctuation of the labor market more sensitively and it had been important basis of formulating employment policies for some national sectors.
At last, journalists from the Xinhua News Agency, Guangming Daily, China Education Daily, China Labor and Social Security News asked questions to the CIER researchers and were seriously answered. And they discussed some employment questions together warmly. France Television, "China circle" column conducted a special live interview to professor Zeng on the CIER Index.
This conference released the CIER Index to the public for the second time with support from related national sectors, after 12 employment situation quarter analysis meetings, since the 2008 financial crisis. The conference received a widespread concern in society and was highly valued. |
