On the morning of Jul. 6th, Georg FISCHER, Director of Analysis, Evaluation, External Ralations from Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, and Daniel WATERSCHOOT, Policy Co-ordinator of International Affairs, Enlargement, came to visit and communicate with our school accompanied by Yi Xiaolin, Project Officer of Development & Co-operation, Delegation of the European Union. Professor Zeng Xiangquan, dean of SLHR and director of CIER, met them with a warm reception in Room 442 of Qiushi Building.

Dean Zeng Xiangquan introduced things like the history and organization structuring about SLHR, major research achievements by CIER, changes in current China labor market and the measurement and value of CIER index to these guests. Georg FISCHER mentioned that despite of some differences in the labor market between China and the EU, there are some commons such as the problems and challenges that both are facing in the fields of employment, social integration and industrialization. In consequence, to learn from Chinese experience was the main purpose of this trip. Both sides had a deep communication on hot issues such as changes in the labor market at home and abroad, data statistics of unemployment, flow trend of peasant-worker, unemployment problem of university students, job autonomy and job-hidden discrimination. Then they respectively introduced the characteristics of national or regional labor market and study field, and actively discussed the possibility of future cooperation.

Tang Kuang, deputy secretary of Party Committee of SLHR and deputy director of CIER, Ding Dajian, director of Data Center of SLHR and researcher of CIER, Dr. Ge Yuhao, Teacher Zhang Shilei and Teacher Chen Xiaorui attended the meeting and exchange activities as well.
