In the afternoon of April 13, 2011, "27th Forum on Labor Economics" was held in conference room 347 in Qiushi building.
Dr.Han Jun from Nankai University's School of Economics gave a lecture entitled "Globalization and Wage Inequality: Evidence from 1988-2008 Chinese Urban Household Surveys". The seminar was chaired by Mr. Zhao Zhong. A total of 15 people attended the seminar, including faculties and doctoral and master students of SLHR.
Professor Han presented his paper and ideas, explored, compared and analyzed wage gap between different degrees of openness in China by using instance of Deng Xiaoping's southern tour in1992 and China's Accession to the WTO in 2001, estimating inequality effect of openness on urban workers wage and discussing the relationship between globalization and technology improvement.
Participants listened to the speakers and discussed the key social factors of rural-urban wage gap, the potential problem and other metering methods involved. They also expressed their views and had full communications with the speaker.
