At 16:00 on October 14, 2009, the ninth Biweekly Academic Forum of Labor Economics organized by School of Labor and Human Resources of RUC was successfully held. The speaker of this forum was Dr. Tao Ran, who is s an associate researcher of CCAP of the Chinese Academy of Science, and a senior researcher of Department of Public Policy Research of China Research Center for Public Policy. The topic is Limitations of Chinese Development Model and the Future Co-reform of Household Registration System and Land Institutions in Regional Competition. The forum was presided over by Professor Zhao Zhong, senior researcher of CIER. Researcher of CIER Professor Liu Erduo and Professor Tang Kuang, PHD student Wu Qiang, Yang Yu-Mei, Li Xiaoman, other teachers and students of the School of Labor and Human Resources attended the forum and discussed Dr. Tao Ran’s speech.
Dr. Tao received doctorate in economics from the University of Chicago, and currently is an associate researcher of CCAP of the Chinese Academy of Science, a senior researcher of Department of Public Policy Research of China Research Center for Public Policy. Dr. Tao's main research areas include: government regulation, political economy, economy development, public finance, transition economics, China's rural economy, and he is particularly concerned about China's rural areas and the household registration system, where he has made much research. His papers are published several times in Journal of Comparative Economics, Journal of Development Studies and other academic journals, which are collected by SSCI. |
